With a compatible SATA III motherboard/controller and drive, the cable supports transfer rates up to 6Gbps. It also works with SATA I and SATA II equipment, where the connection automatically operates at the lower supported interface speed.
Which connector style should you choose?
CAS1E — Right-Angle
The 90° connector turns the cable immediately after the SATA port. It is useful behind drive cages, in compact PC cases and where side-panel clearance is limited. SKU: CT-SATA3R-B0.5.
CAS2E — Straight
Straight connectors at both ends suit conventional motherboard-to-drive routing and builds with open cable paths. SKU: CT-SATA3-B0.5.
A secure internal connection
3U gold-plated contacts help resist oxidation, while the metal locking latch holds the SATA plug firmly in a compatible latched socket. Tinned-copper conductors and aluminium shielding help maintain consistent signal transmission inside electrically busy PC enclosures.

- 6Gbps requires SATA III support from both controller and drive.
- It is not an external eSATA cable and not suitable for M.2 NVMe drives.

Does this cable power an SSD or HDD?
No. It carries SATA data only. The drive also needs SATA power from the PC power supply.
Will it work with a SATA II drive?
Yes. It is backward compatible, with speed limited by the slower interface.
Which version is better for a small PC case?
The CAS1E right-angle version is typically easier where clearance behind or beside a drive is restricted.
Can I use it with an NVMe SSD?
No. NVMe M.2 storage uses a different interface.
