TRRS compatibility matters
Use this cable between two devices that both provide compatible four-pole 3.5mm TRRS sockets. Typical applications include selected phones, tablets, laptops, headsets, speakerphones and audio devices that share audio and microphone connections on one port.
Not the same as a standard three-pole AUX cable:microphone and in-line-control operation depends on both connected devices using the same TRRS wiring standard. A three-pole stereo socket can carry playback audio but will not use the microphone contact.
